What is Trenchless Sewer Repair and how it Works

Most often, trenchless sewer repair works out much cheaper than digging trenches. It usually takes about an hour to pull the pipe through and the entire process takes approximately one or two days. It is still much quicker than digging trenches, doing the pipe replacement, filling in the holes, and repairing the surface construction. It's quick and efficient:

1. Digging entry holes

Instead of digging up the entire line as is needed by traditional plumbing, we will only dig two much smaller holes at either entry point. That means that you won't have to hire contractors to reconstruct your floors, patio, or driveway, and your front lawn will remain intact. Typically, one hole will be dug where the sewer exits your home, and the other at the point where the line from your home connects to the mainline.

2. Introduce the steel cable

We will then insert a steel cable into the sewer pipe. The cable is attached to a hardened steel bursting head. A new polyethylene pipe will be attached to the end of the bursting head.

3. Pulling the cable

We will set up the PortaBurst hydraulic system at the end of the line. The system will pull the cable with the attached head and pipe. As the new pipe is moved through the line, the old pipe is burst and the pieces are pushed into the surrounding soil.

4. Making the connections

At the end of the line, by the hydraulic system, the two connections are made and inspected. Once the Anta Plumbing team is satisfied with the work, we will fill in the holes.
